Frog Dissection in 7th Grade Science
Seventh grade science students are completing their unit of study on the animal phyla. They have dissected an earthworm, a grasshopper, a perch and a frog. A fetal pig will be dissected after they complete their unit on human anatomy. Dissection is an enjoyable, hands on activity for the students, and it also allows them to see internal structures and better understand how all living things function. Students look forward to dissection day, and most do not even mind the unique odor of the specimens!
